little girl, i know he bruised your heart / i know he sometimes let go of my hand to take yours / & he wasn’t able to stand straight as it fell apart / i know he inflicted more damage as he tried to seam it as it tore
little girl, i know he added to your worthlessness / but little girl, your worth never diminished / i know you feel as if there’s too much damage / & you don’t know if redemption could help salvage
little girl, i know the ways he never manned up / but i know hurting you was never his intent / little girl, you are cherished, even if he didn’t know how to love / but little girl, i know his heart for you, & it is innocent
little girl, i know your chest, & you are my delight / innocence is still your own / little girl, you are more precious to me than life / do not let worthlessness weigh on you like stones
